There are some mosquito repelling  plants which can keep mosquitoes and other insects at bay when kept in the house or garden area.

It is that time of the year when mosquitoes are at peak. You need to keep yourself safe from their bites or else you might get infected with malaria, dengue, chikungunya like mosquito-borne diseases which may even claim your life! Better late than never. Place these plants in your residential premises to prevent these pesky mosquitoes from entering your house and attacking your loved ones. These plants have certain anti-mosquito chemicals that would keep these bloodsuckers at bay. Take a look at some of the easily available mosquito-repelling plants.

Tulsi or Basil

Tulsi is a plant with innumerable benefits out of which one is its property to repel insects. The natural aroma of this medicinal plant is toxic to mosquito larvae which thus, prevents mosquitoes from laying eggs. Also, if you drink tulsi milk daily, it will boost your immunity too. Marigold

If you think the marigold plant is good for producing bright yellow & orange flowers only, we want to tell you that it can also deter mosquitoes. The compound pyrethrum present in this plant is a natural insecticide and is used in a wide range of mosquito repellants.

Citronella

Peppermint

This plant grows really fast and can cover your entire garden if unchecked. Though it is not as interfering as the other plants belonging to the mint family.
